1. We respect copyright

FlightTest respects the intellectual property of others and expects the same from its users. Flight manuals, checklists, QRHs, FCOMs and other documents from manufacturers, operators and schools are usually protected by copyright and, often, by confidentiality agreements.

Only upload material you have the right to use, for example: your own notes; documents your school or operator gave you to study, when personal study use is allowed; or public-domain material or material under a license that allows it. Do not upload material that your employer, your operator or the rights holder forbids you to copy.

2. How we handle what you upload

Your material is private: only you can see it, and it is not published or shared with other users. When you convert a text, a photo or a PDF with AI, the original file is not stored: we only keep the study cards you choose. Photos of your cockpit panels are stored, in private storage that only your account can access.

FlightTest does not review users' content in advance, but acts when it receives a valid notice, as explained below.

3. How to report an infringement

If you own a copyright (or act on the owner's behalf) and believe that material stored on FlightTest infringes it, send a written notice to our designated agent (section 8) with the following information, as required by the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)):

  • Your physical or electronic signature (the owner's or that of the person authorized to act on their behalf).
  • Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  • Identification of the allegedly infringing material and information reasonably sufficient to locate it (for example, the account email or a description of the content).
  • Your contact details: name, postal address, phone number and email address.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law.
  • A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

Incomplete notices may not be acted upon. We apply this same procedure to any copyright claim, including those based on Colombian law (Law 23 of 1982 and Andean Decision 351 of 1993).

4. What we do when we receive one

If the notice is valid, we will promptly remove or disable access to the identified material and notify the affected user, including, where possible, a copy of the notice.

5. Counter-notice

If you believe your material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to our designated agent with:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the material that was removed and where it was before removal.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you are outside the U.S., any judicial district in which FlightTest may be found) and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the claim.

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the person who filed the claim. We may restore the material 10 to 14 business days later, unless that person informs us that they have filed a court action.

6. Repeat infringers

Where appropriate, we will terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyright.

7. False notices

Under section 512(f) of the DMCA, anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees. If you are not sure whether material infringes your rights, consult a lawyer first.

8. Designated agent

  • Jesus David Gomez Correa
  • Carrera 28, 30-41, Don Matías, Antioquia 051850, Colombia
